Group Use of Duxbury Beach

With its open space and beautiful scenery, Duxbury Beach is a popular site for group outings. While Duxbury Beach Reservation welcomes groups to Duxbury Beach, we do require that all groups submit their plans for review and approval. To ensure that visitors enjoy the best experience possible, please review the information pertinent to your group type: private group, school visit, commercial use, public event; and submit the appropriate application form within the necessary timeframe.

Note: During our High Season, April 1 - Sept 15, specific locations have very limited access.

All visitors are expected to be familiar with and follow beach regulations. Failure to do so may impact future use of site. As group coordinator, you are responsible for your group participants.

School Visits to Duxbury Beach

School Field Trips: Duxbury Beach Reservation looks forward to working with local schools and students that want to use Duxbury Beach as an outdoor classroom. Be aware that many schools schedule field trips in the spring and fall. To ensure that everyone has the space necessary for a meaningful experience, we require that schools schedule their visits using the School Field Trip Application.

Two options - both require reservations:
1) Enhance your visit with an educational program presented by Mass Audubon or Duxbury Bay Maritime School educators. Both organizations have trained staff who will work with you to tailor programs to your needs and age group. Porta-potties are available. Program fees and availability determined by organization.

Contacts:  Mass Audubon, Chris Hitchener, southeast@massaudubon.org

Duxbury Bay Maritime School, McKenzie Thompson, kenzie@dbms.org

OR

2) Visit the beach on your own for self-directed fun. Park at Duxbury Beach Park (at the Blakeman’s Pavilion) which has restrooms and food available. Reservations are necessary, fee is based on size of group.
